Job Summary:

The primary role of the Inside Sales Representative - Government Sales is to meet or exceed sales objectives by supporting ClearOne's sales team with a focus on government sales. This position involves direct interaction with customers through handling incoming calls, cold calls, quotation requests, and order processing. The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for sales lead generation, customer support, and account management. Leads and inquiries will be managed through phone, the website, and various other methods. This position emphasizes sales to government entities domestically in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity Development: Own, qualify, and develop opportunities in state and federal governments from various sources including the company website, marketing efforts, outside sales, search portals, and national accounts.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Partner with outside sales to effectively manage and grow valuable government customer accounts, prioritizing support for established customers.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and execute a sales and contact strategy to effectively penetrate the government market and target sales opportunities.
  • Outbound Sales: Conduct a targeted number of outbound contacts daily to new and existing government procurement officers, resellers, and end-user accounts.
  • Order Management: Assist Sales Directors in executing customer support orders and quotations, as directed, through phone, webchat, email, and in-person interactions, proactively addressing customer needs by suggesting additional products.
  • Forecasting: Accurately forecast near and long-term order opportunities.
  • Tool Utilization: Consistently and accurately use available tools (including ERP systems and CRM software) to document customer activity and utilize other in-house tools for routine tasks.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Product Management teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination related to customer orders and account management.
  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate with Finance teams to resolve invoicing and credit approval issues, ensuring all customer transactions are processed efficiently.
  • Team Support: Provide strategic guidance and support to other Inside Sales Representatives, ensuring adequate coverage for all customers and optimizing team performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of product changes and applications, continually improving selling skills, and identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Professional Representation: Represent ClearOne with professionalism, integrity, and a customer-centric approach at all times.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of relevant work experience in sales to government entities preferred. Experience in a customer-facing role is a significant advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Comprehensive product knowledge and application usage, with the ability to recognize incompatibilities in an order.
    • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on value-added up-selling.
    • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, primarily conducted over the phone or electronically.
    • Strong sense of urgency and prioritization to meet customer expectations.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to exhibit patience.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, preferred.
    • Key Competencies: Core competencies essential for success include effective communication, strong analytical skills, collaboration, adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting Requirements: Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Activities include stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing/pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
